Contact

Get in touch with María Mulata.

To ask about beds and dates, the double room, a tent or a hammock — or to warn them that a hungry group is on its way.

María Mulata’s front by day: palm-thatched roof, wooden balcony, the yellow “Hostal María Mulata” sign and dozens of hand-painted signs over the sandy street.

How it works

  1. This form doesn’t send anything by itself or store your details.
  2. When you press the button, you review the message and open it in your email app (or copy it).
  3. You send it, and the hostel replies.

How to find us.

  • From Santa Marta. The cheapest way is the public bus from the market, every 15 minutes until 6 pm; it takes over 2 hours. After 6 pm the hostel recommends sleeping in Santa Marta and coming the next day.
  • Airports. Santa Marta (SMR) is about 70 km away; a public bus runs from the airport into Santa Marta. Riohacha is about 75 km away, with buses to Palomino from its bus terminal.
  • The last stretch. The bus drops you on the main road (Troncal del Caribe). From there, walk or take a motorbike taxi down the road to the beach (Carrera 6): María Mulata is about 100 m from the sea.
  • Bring cash. ATMs in Palomino are scarce (ProColombia says there are none) and many places don’t take cards.
